Over the last 2 weeks we have been having lots of fun learning about minibeasts.
In our role play area we had a 'minibeast den'. In the sensory area we looked for minibeasts in the soil using magnifying glasses and we used playdough mats to add wings, spots and antennae! We also went on a minibeast hunt around our local area.
We found ants, spiders, beetles, ladybirds, snails and even some spider eggs! We have been making lots of minibeast themed things for our display too (worms, butterflies, caterpillars and ladybirds).
Looking closely!
What can you see?
In our ‘Big Fun Time’ we have been thinking about how minibeasts move and singing lots of songs such as ‘Old Macdonald had a Garden!’ We read the stories ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘What the Ladybird Heard.’
